Anthony Steven Barrell, David Matthew Hammond, and Ian Oakley-Smith have been appointed as joint administrators of BXL Services to manage its affairs, business and property as its agents. Anthony Steven Barrell, David Matthew Hammond, and Ian Oakley-Smith are licensed to act as insolvency practitioners in the United Kingdom by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

John Ling

John began his career with BT as a Telecoms Engineer. Over the years, he moved through a variety of sales and business management roles in BT, then latterly AT&T and Cable and Wireless.

These assignments covered sales, business development, international general management, project roles around joint venture renegotiation, and creating Alliances at a global level with companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Accenture and HP.

In 2005 John became Independent Chair of Connexions for Birmingham and Solihull, and then latterly interim CEO for the company in 2007 to oversee the company through a significant TUPE transfer to the Local Authorities.

Part of the transition of Connexions during then included the creation of BXL as a new entity in October 2008, where John remains as CEO.

Outside of BXL, John is Chair of the University of the First age, a Trustee of Birmingham Wheels, and has previously held other non-executive roles such as director of Marketing Birmingham, a trustee for a Birmingham Independent School, and a member of the board for the NEP pilot Fair Cities.
