National Apprenticeshipp Week

National Apprenticeship Week 23rd - 27th February 09

Monday 23rd February marks the start of the 2nd National Apprenticeship Week.  There will be conferences around the UK where employers can learn about the benefits of taking on an Apprentice, and where some will be showcasing their success stories.

It's easy to understand today, why so many organisations might be placing a freeze on recruitment, however, if these organisations do not invest in skills now, when the current recession lifts they will not be in a position to respond.  Investing in the right skills now is the best way to ensure that there is a real opportunity for a profitable and successful future.

"Success is all about finding people who will help make any business grow, especially in times like these. It's important that employers take Apprenticeships seriously - apprentices make things happen and can help a business to grow and thrive". Sir Alan Sugar.

Apprenticeships ensure that your workforce has the practical skills and qualifications your organisation needs now and in the future. The mixture of on and off job learning ensures the Apprentice learns the skills that work best for your business.  And with over 180 different Apprenticeships across all sectors, there's one to suit most business needs; bringing increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent work-force.

The Employer & Business Development Team of BXL is recognised as the ‘one stop shop' to bring employers and young people together, and has sector specialists working with employers from blue chip organisations and household names to small and medium sized enterprises and micro businesses.
