Bxchange to be launched early 2010
Initially born out of a Regional Skills Partnership meeting regarding the need for improved collaboration between schools and business, Bxchange has been created by BXL.
Future Jobs Fund recruitment process begins ...
BXL is part of a consortium with Birmingham Children's Hospital and Bournville College, and together we are hosting 44 placements in two separate six month tranches. BXL will provide two administrative posts in each six month period. We will also provide job preparation and CV writing workshops throughout the placements.
The pre-employment training programme lasts six months, providing paid work placements for 30 hours per week. To enable the participants to obtain a qualification as part of the initiative, they will take part in training through an accredited provider.
The major role for BXL is providing a Key Worker to support those undertaking placements in the three organisations. As the young people have been unemployed for a year or more, they may be less confident initially in the workplace. The Key Worker will meet each of those on placement and develop a learning/action plan with them and then continue to offer face to face and telephone interventions as required during the six month placement.
If you have candidates who may be interested in finding out more, please contact your local Jobcentre Plus.
