BXL receives WNF funding to work with
families in the South of the city
BXL’s Improving Chances Project works with individuals and families in the South West of the city, to reduce multi-generational unemployment, by raising the skills and aspirations of disadvantaged young people and their parents or guardians. This innovative project will break the cycle of low expectations and raise aspirations by delivering a menu of accredited and non-accredited training opportunities that can be tailored to each family’s needs. BXL’s Elev8 celebrates!
Success was the word ringing in the ears of those attending the Elev8 celebration event in April! Young people successfully involved with the project over the past 18 months were awarded certificates and were given the opportunity to talk about their accomplishments, in front of an audience at ENTA. Afterwards, English super-middleweight boxer Richie Woodall delivered an inspirational motivational presentation to a captive audience of young people, training providers and referral agencies such as Connexions and the Youth Service.
