Pre-NEET - Keeping Young People in Education, Employment and Training

For students who are showing signs of becoming disengaged, or Pre-NEET (not in education, employment or training) we can run a number of programmes to increase their personal and social skills with the objective of re-engaging them in education, employment or training.
  
Summer offer on supported WEX
 
This supported WEX placement will be at a Health and Safety checked employer and will be held across the summer term 1 day per week £270 per pupil
 
We can deliver the following programmes for Pre-NEET’s:-

Foundation Learning
  • WEX Preparation & Safety Approval Support
    Designed to ensure that effective planning and pre-placement activities take place to maximise the benefits and learning that can be derived from the work experience placement.
  • Supported WEX Placements
    Provides one-to-one support to guide students through a bespoke work experience placement and to complete up to two BTEC Workskills units.
  • Alternative WEX
    Provides a practical vocational programme of accredited learning for students who are not suited to traditional work experience placements. Projects are carried out at Birmingham Wheels and Ackers, both engaging environments for students.

  • Supported Work Experience Placement
    Health and Safety checked placements are sourced and the pupils are accompnied to the interviews. Evaluations and support by a key worker are offered throughout the placement.

  • Work Experience  Employability Days
    Aimed at pre-NEET pupils to help prepare them for their forthcoming supported Work Experience Placements. These sessions will equip the young people with transferable skills and knowledge for the workplace. Health & safety, communication skills, problem solving and team working are some of the area covered

  • Health and Safety Accredited Course

Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazards Awareness (British Safety Council) This course contributes to school performance figures(3.5 points) fits neatly into existing programmes of study such as GCSE Science, PHSE and work related learning. A certificate for each pupil is produced along with a plaque to recongnise your commitment to educating young people in Health and Safety.

Birmingham wheels offers support and training to young people through the use of motor vehicles.

Creation

Creation was built by climbers for climbers.

The company was founded in April 2004 an alternative to an existing facility in the city.  Creation offers wall climbing for experienced and beginner climbers.

Jaguar - Land Rover

 Jaguar Land Rover is a business built around two great British car brands that design, engineer and manufacture in the UK.

Toye, Kenning and Spencer

Toye, Kenning and Spencer have been using their skills to create fine identity products for Fraternal Societies as well as Civil and Military markets.

BTEC Workskills
We can help you to get your BTEC in Workskills qualifications and these will help you to develop the skills that you need to be a good employee. There are a number of different types of short courses that will lead you to the full qualification and it will be up to you which route you want to take. We can make it easy for you by making some suggestions.
