“ I am just writing to say thank you for organising work experience … I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in the hospital as all the members of staff that I spoke to were very friendly and willing to answer any questions that I had and I feel that I learnt a lot and that the experience I gained from it will be very valuable in my preparation towards studying a degree in paediatric nursing.”

The programme will be held four times in 2012 during the following dates only:

As a result of the above process, and a limited amount of places on offer, we strongly recommend that you continue to find alternative work experience placements, should you not be successful. If you wish to apply for the structured programmes, please click here to download an application form.

All application forms are to be returned to the following address:

 One to One Placements

Students are based within one department within the hospital and the focus of the work experience will be entirely around the work done in that department only. Departments that currently offer one to one work experience placements are:

  •   Neurology                     One week placements at select times throughout the year
  •   Physiotherapy                One day placements (on a Wednesday) throughout the year
  •   Occupational Therapy     One day placements at select times throughout the year
  •   Dietetics                       One day placements at select times throughout the year
  •   Audiology                      One day placements at select times throughout the year

** Please note as each department is quite specialised, you must have an active interest in the area and have studied / be studying toward a related qualification **

Further departments may be added to the above, and this web-page will be updated when they are available. Placements with the Emergency Department are indefinitely on hold. Please note that placements are subject to an application process. As a result of this and the tremendous amount of interest we receive each year, we strongly recommend finding an alternative placement in case you are unsuccessful.

To check availability and to apply for a one to one work experience placement, please contact a member of the work experience team on 0121 452 4840.
