Extended Work Placement If you just want to get as much work experience as you can, we can help you to find an extended work placement where you can go to work for one day a week for up to three school terms. We can run a number of courses for you that will help you to develop the skills that you will need when you get a job. Having these skills before you a job will help you to get the job in the first place. The types of sessions that we can run for you include things like communications skills, team working, problem solving and health & safety. Health and safety is very important no matter where you decide to work and we can help you to get the Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazards Awareness. This is a recognised accreditation and it’s something that you can add to your CV with pride as it shows that you will be a responsible employee and take care while at your place of work. |

BTEC Workskills
If you are over 16 and unemployed: We have delivered programmes such as our elev8 and Improving Chances programmes that support young people into further education, training or employment. Offering a variety of courses, ranging from contruction to salon services, we give individuals a taster of an area that they might be interested in. Support was given throughout by an Outreach Worker who was able to address your individual needs and to help with your transition into full time education, training or employment. If you are interested in any of the above programmes you should do one of the following things:
Improving Chances and Impact Projects We are always looking for funding to provide projects that support and up-skill unemployed individuals into employment. Our Improving Chances and Impact projects which both ended in March 2011 helped families and individuals, to break down the barriers to employment. We worked to improve and update individuals skills and build their confidence. Providing free practical and accredited courses and work experience we helped them get back on the employment ladder. |
