Activities

These are done in teams and include, simulated production line challenges, or operating and programming a robot arm or traffic lights. Younger students can also operate and program the PIP Robot, build the buggy, receive an introduction to plant protection and personal protection equipment, or learn about materials using the feely boxes.

We aim to present a positive image of modern manufacturing by showing how clean and professional a factory is today. By helping students realise that a career in manufacturing can encompass many diverse roles such as marketing, logistics and design this emphasises the importance of engineering in society and supports aspects of the curriculum by exposure to a real manufacturing environment.
