BXL’s Education Business Exchange Breakfast Event 26th Feb 2010

BXL's second Business Exchange event took place this morning at Pinsent Masons.
The session covered de-mystifying qualifications and in particular the Diplomas. Educators and employers were invited to talk around this subject and how it affects them and beyond this, what other steps can be taken to improve young peoples' employability.

Please click here (qualifications, Diplomas) to access the presentation slides and for those of you who attended please complete the on-line event survey and those attending who are employers please complete the Diploma support form.

BXL's next Education Business Exchange Event will be on 21st May 2010 to register click here.

Employment & Opportunities

This front line service underpins the work of those providing advice and guidance. It provides a comprehensive range of opportunities that will assist young people in moving forward in life, and makes the largest single contribution to meeting the NEET targets set by Government.

The range encompasses personal development and voluntary work, entry level jobs, Apprenticeships and career development opportunities, plus part-time and temporary work. Additionally, it brings together support services to help with a range of issues; for example, victims of crime/sexual abuse; help with homelessness and substance misuse all in one database for instant reference.

Recognised as the ‘one stop shop’ to bring employers and young people together, the team has sector specialists and works with both public and private sector, employers from blue chip organisations and household names to small to medium sized enterprises and micro businesses.

More details on BXL’s extensive range of projects and programmes will be available on these pages in the forthcoming weeks.
