The Elev8 Project
The Elev8 project started in October 2008 and will run until December 2010. Its purpose is to engage young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) aged 16-18 (up to 25 for LDD) and to support them into, education, employment, self employment, or training. Elev8 also aims to include young people who are in the hardest to reach category.
Working alongside designated learning providers, Elev8 provides bespoke courses (non accredited and accredited) onto which clients are referred. These courses can include personal social development, vocational skills work experience amongst others. Clients are assessed and supported throughout the duration of the course by outreach workers. After the initial course Elev8 work with the young people to sustain full time education, employment or training.
